Job Summary

IT System Administrator (with Cloud Expertise and Bilingual Dutch/English)

We are looking for a talented and adaptable IT System Administrator with a strong background in both traditional and cloud-based IT infrastructures, particularly Microsoft Azure and M365. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hybrid IT environment, which spans both on-premises systems and the cloud. You will support our global network and server infrastructure, provide desktop support, and manage our cloud-based services.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-regional environment and who can communicate fluently in both Dutch and English to support our teams in the Netherlands, UK, and Germany.

What you’ll be doing:

As an IT System Administrator at CECO, you’ll take charge of managing our cloud infrastructure, specifically working with Microsoft Azure and M365. You’ll oversee our cloud infrastructure, including our virtual servers and virtual host pools, ensuring that our cloud environment runs efficiently and securely.

On the server and network administration side, you’ll be responsible for overseeing our on-premises Windows servers, managing Active Directory, and supporting essential network services such as our IP subnets and DNS servers. Your expertise will ensure the seamless integration of both on-premises and cloud systems.

You’ll also monitor the health of our systems across the board, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. When issues arise, you’ll be quick to respond, applying necessary patches and performing upgrades as needed to keep everything running smoothly.

You’ll collaborate with vendors and third-party consultants, working together to execute system upgrades, new installations, and troubleshooting efforts. You’ll also play a key role in ensuring that we are meeting IT security standards and regulatory compliance for both cloud and on-premises environments.

On a day-to-day basis, you will provide global desktop support for our users, with a primary focus on the Netherlands, UK, and Germany offices. From configuring PCs to managing peripherals and providing VOIP support, you’ll be the go-to person for troubleshooting and resolving issues for our teams across regions.

Your proactive approach will extend to performance tuning, where you’ll identify and resolve system bottlenecks related to network availability, utilization, and latency. You’ll work to continuously improve the performance and reliability of our IT systems.

In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to bring your cross-platform expertise into play by integrating cloud services with our existing infrastructure, including Citrix Cloud, endpoint management tools, and virtual desktop environments.

Because our team spans multiple countries, your ability to communicate fluently in both Dutch and English will be key. You’ll work closely with colleagues across borders, providing seamless support and ensuring clear communication.

As part of this role, regular travel is required. You will frequently travel within the Netherlands and across Europe (currently the UK and Germany) to support local offices, assist with IT projects, system implementations, troubleshooting, and user support activities. In addition, occasional international travel outside Europe may be required to support global business operations, participate in projects, or collaborate with colleagues in other regions. Flexibility and willingness to travel are therefore important aspects of this position.

Lastly, you’ll take ownership of documentation and reporting, maintaining accurate records of our systems, asset tracking, and responding to audit requests.

What we’re looking for:

To thrive in this role, you should have experience managing both on-premises and cloud IT environments, with a particular focus on Microsoft Azure and M365. You should be comfortable administering Windows Server and Active Directory, and have a solid understanding of cloud services and networking (such as PowerShell scripting, Azure networking, and endpoint management tools like Microsoft Endpoint Manager).

A strong grasp of network security and compliance standards will also be essential to your success in this role. You should be an independent problem solver who is comfortable managing multiple priorities in a global environment.

Education and experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT system administration, with a solid focus on cloud infrastructure management.
  • Certifications such as AZ-104 Azure Administrator, M365, or similar are preferred.

Why join us?

By joining our team, you’ll gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies and have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our global IT infrastructure. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, along with a dynamic work environment where your expertise will be valued.

If you’re a proactive, bilingual IT professional with a passion for cloud technology, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and take the next step in your career!
